The name Al Murdoch may not be the most famous name in Vancouver, but his voice is one of the most recognizable.

He's the public address announcer for Canucks games at Rogers Arena (among other things) and his energetic, booming voice has been a part of games at the arena for decades.

And with the Canucks in the playoffs, his voice will be booming in all new spots.

"You’ll hear his voice at most SkyTrain stations along the Expo, Millennium, and Canada Lines on home game days," states TransLink on its website. "The announcements include messages amping up riders for the Stanley Cup Playoffs and thanking riders for choosing transit."

They won't be playing constantly; Murdoch's announcements will play every 15 minutes between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and then closer to game time between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

"Keep your ears peeled when riding the SkyTrain," states TransLink.
