GOAAAAAALLLLLL!

June 25, 2008

Hundreds of millions of people around the world can’t be wrong… Soccer is great, but even better than just watching soccer is watching Euro Cup or the World Cup on Commercial drive. Love ‘em or hate ‘em… most nationalities are a lot different than others (vocally usually…) On Commercial, I’ve seen near punch ups, yelled at the Portuguese, and cried in my caffe au lait…all in one day. Top that!

The final is on Sunday, and if you feel like watching a spectacle… go check it!

I bet you can guess that Turkey just scored, cause the German’s are NOT looking happy…

a penny saved is a blah blah blah

June 25, 2008

I’m not gonna sugar coat it, times are tough! However great this city may be, it has always been an expensive one to live in. I have personally always justified that by weighing out the cost against all of the totally epic things that you find throughout this site and am still happy to call Vancouver home. Gas prices i can handle by getting on my bike, powerslider or just by hoofing it… but how do i beat the raised rent without moving in to a two story cardboard refrigerator box?… one small step at a time…I am gonna let you in on a little money saving secret for around the apartment. So like me, you have been working up a sweat by moving around the city in every other way than driving and it is time to do your sock laundry. Forget digging though your jeans and jackets for valuable spare loonies and head to office depot for a box of cubicle worthy coffee stir sticks (a box of 500 will run you about $2). make sure to get the ones with two separate tubes. First things first, close the laundry room door behind you fool! You don’t want the soop to see this. These little fellas are roughly the same width as a loonie…… see where I’m going here? Take the stir stick and insert into the loonie slot in a downward motion while slowly pushing in the slider with the other hand. As the slider moves in drop the stick closer to a horizontal position and continue pushing in ( note: it may take you a few tries to get the proper positioning and sticks tend to get ruined after few attempts so be sure to pack a few on your first run at this) You’ll know it when you get it! The slider will go the distance but make sure to keep a firm grasp on it as these machines can be grabby. last thing you want is to cause a jam up and ruin this little gem before you get to reap the rewards. knawmean!? Pull the slider out while holding and pulling the stir stick with the opposite hand and wait to hear the sweet sound of cascading laundry water! you did it chief! Now go spend that extra loot on the sweet things in life like a sixer of Miller High Life. Oh yeah, one more thing! Clean up the evidence! Thanks to all who came to Emerica’s Wild In The Streets. This event just keep getting bigger and bigger. Not sure how we will top this for next year, but I guess we have to wait and see.

June 23, 2008

Vancouver faves Flosstradamus from Chicago are back again.. We all remember how bananas it was when they were here with Andrew WK. So this one is a no brainer! Presented by LRG.
