WAMP! WAMP!

January 22, 2009

Alright, so last night was the CLIPSE show over at Richards on Richards (for those of you that didn’t know). I got to say they were quite a performance – they really knew how to get a crowd Hyped up. It was pretty funny to hear a full crowd to say ” WAMP WAMP “ all in sync as well. If you didn’t spend the $25 to hear these guys spit rhymes, def missed out! Then again, you could have saved your money to see Lil Wayne perform next week. Nonetheless it was a sick show, good crowd – I would see these guys if they came here again (for sure).

Here’s couple photos just for those that missed out. (click for bigger)

Informal

January 20, 2009

One totally awesome aspect of Vancouver is all the creative entrepreneurs doing their thing. Informal Attire for example is the brainchild of a friend of mine/well known North Van local and is designed right here in the city by local artists and designers. David Lynch fans will recognize the Twin Peaks influence and the rest of the line takes cues from film, classic literature, and paranormal mythologies. Really well thought out products for a high end skate/snow collection.

Anyone else know of some rad local companies? Post them up – Homegrown businesses are the best!

Who’s The Most Versatile DJ In The 604?

January 19, 2009

This event is probably one of my favorite Dj events for the year. 8 of Vancouver’s best local DJ’s have one objective: a simple 15 minute set with 2 criteria’s…1) mix at least 3 different genres of music 2) rock the party. To see your fav DJ’s put a power set together gets pretty insane and I am personally inviting you all to witness this one. Winner represents Canada at the finals in Toronto.

I will waive any cover charge if you hit me up personally for g-list by e-mailing gman88@shaw.ca with ‘your full name +1′ in the subject. All you have to do is do me the favor of blasting this flyer to all your friends. Everybody else can but tickets for only $10 HERE.

pimp your ride

January 19, 2009

I kinda had a hunch that Xzibit was in town after seeing this rad Playmobile ride near my house. I mean, look at it… wouldn’t you want a xtra large Playmobile man on your roof, waving his hands in the air… waving them around like he just don’t care.

In fact, it has a similar look to the Beavis and Butthead “Cornholio“ characters…

Anyway, this one goes out to the people who pimped their Montana with a middle ages guard from the round table..

Awesome!

UP WITH HOPE

January 19, 2009

This art auction and fundraiser looks pretty damned worthwhile. It’s “To raise funds for the Up with Hope project, which aims to send three young Canadians back to Nairobi, Kenya to continue building much-needed sustainable waste management centres in the city’s slums.”
