Vancouver Is Awesome, and we are dedicated to everything that makes it that way.

If you want to read ugly, bad news about this beautiful city of ours, you’re going to have to look to traditional media and other blogs; V.I.A. promotes everything that makes our city awesome, from old to new and everything inbetween. We’re like the human interest piece on the news… only different.

VANCOUVER’S MOST AWESOME: NDIDI ONUKWULU!

Ndidi Onukwulu is a BC based blues/roots singer and a serious force to be reckoned with. From her recent 2009 Juno Award nomination for best Solo Roots and Traditional Album to her role as a lounge singer named Ruth in the film “Nurse.Fighter.Boy” the Britannia Beach resident is becoming quite a rising starlet indeed! She’s also just signed on with record label Naive in Paris, France who bost a roster of artists like Metric, Santogold and Marianne Faithful (to name a few).

Infusing her unique sound with a diverse mix of musical genres including blues, jazz, gospel and r&b, her stage shows are entertaining and intimate. And her band kicks ass too! Check out her music here: www.myspace.com/ndidionukwulu

She took some time out of her busy tour schedule to answer a few quick questions for VIA….
