Our next featured artist for The Proof is photographer Jeff Otto O-Brien, who's work was recently selected for VIA's Photo of The Week. He is part of the upcoming group show, The New Photographers, which opens this weekend at Gallery Atsui. Instead of presenting images of material possessions and daily consumptions as a representation of his day-to-day, Jeff shares his ideas, intuitions and emotive states inspired by the rooted things in his environment.

What neighborhood do you live in?
I live in Strathcona, Vancouver.
What do you do and where?
I take pictures in Vancouver.
What are you working on?
I am working on a couple pieces for an upcoming show at Gallery Atsui.
As mentioned, Jeff's work will be exhibited at Gallery Atsui for their show, The New Photographers, with Jody Rogac, Lila Bujold, Jeff Petry, Cedric Bomford and Fiona Garden. The reception is April 3, 2009 (8 pm-onwards) and runs till April 25, 2009. Gallery Atsui is at 602 East Hastings (at Princess) Vancouver.
