Brian Mendoza is one of the most talented and stylish people I know, and he is also one of the designers of wings & horns – one of Canada’s leading fashion menswear and footwear lines. The Vancouver based label has heralded quite a following in recent times, with its emphasis on simple and clean designs and classic cuts with a forward twist. Brian shares with us some photos of what he is working on, and the things he has seen.

Tonight we set up a newly purchased, used drum kit in our garage…. I’ve always wanted to be in a garage band! Watch out Jack and Meg White – Age and Malania are ’bout to take over! On another note, I’m sure our neighbours are going to be thrilled with our attempt at making “music”.

For those bands out there that are looking to get outta the garage and onto the big stage, now is your chance! Zune Canada is in the midst of a month-long search to find Canada’s hottest undiscovered band or artist to perform at the Zune Concert Series (April 17 -26), which takes place during the 2009 TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival.

All you have to do is upload your music at www.zune.ca and get all your fans to rate your band the best in the world ever!!! The winner performs at the Zune Concert Series Stage with other bands like Metric and The Stills -PLUS- a chance to connect with music industry peeps! Yeah!

If you can’t play an instrument or are completely tone deaf, no sweat – you could win something too. Music fans can enter the contest HERE and be up for a trip for 2 to Whistler to join in on the concert series – PLUS – accommodation, transport between Whistler and Vancouver, 2 Zune MP3 players and food vouchers.

Vancouver’s own YSP!WSD! are playing the Biltmore on March 28th, part of the Juno Fest celebrations.
You should check them, cause I’m sure they’ll be dropping lots of new tunes, and also, they’re hella good!
