Vancouver Is Awesome, and we are dedicated to everything that makes it that way.

If you want to read ugly, bad news about this beautiful city of ours, you’re going to have to look to traditional media and other blogs; V.I.A. promotes everything that makes our city awesome, from old to new and everything inbetween. We’re like the human interest piece on the news… only different.

BLOWIN UP YOUR SPOT?

May 29, 2009

Does anybody know if there’s somebody living in this cute little Boler that’s been parked behind The Foundation on Main for the past few months? If not, I would like to inquire about getting it donated to VancouverIsAwesome so that we have somewhere to hold our board meetings…

ONE OF THE BEST WALLS EVER

May 28, 2009

On the corner of Main and (I think it’s) 7th Ave is one of the most awesome… well… billboards in the city. I hesitate to call it a billboard because it’s so classic looking, it’s been there for as long as I can remember and it’s actually painted onto the side of the building.

langarafishinglodge

When I first re-noticed it a few years back it was looking a little shabby, like it was in need of a paint job or that it might be slowly on it’s way out because it was a standing relic from the past, like a bunch of the ghosts of signage that can be spotted on some brick buildings in Gastown. But it keeps getting refreshed and a quick internet search will tell you that Langara Fishing Lodge is, in fact, a fully operational (likely thriving) business so the ad is still totally relevant. Should I ever drop a sum of cash on a fishing lodge excursion these guys are on the top of my list simply due to the awesomeness of this sign.
