If you live in North Vancouver and you’ve never had a slurpee from Hardy’s then you need to move out of that cave you’ve been living in and get your ass to Montroyal and Capilano road. I went to high school within walking distance of Hardy’s and these slurpees were pretty much a daily staple in my diet, even after I graduated I can recall driving there twice a day for icey refreshment. I think the secret to the deliciousness is the fact that they only turn on the slurpee machine when you order one. The result is the perfect combo of ice and liquid, you never get that crappy no flavour ice at the bottom, it’s literally good to the last drop. There’s only four flavours to choose from but they are always so good. Some how they get the rootbeer or pepsi to froth up like it’s carbonated….. MAGIC! Today I opted for the cream soda 7up combo, and I was not disappointed. The best thing is, I finished high school fifteen years ago and the people that run the store still remember me.

Oh man, Hardy’s is an institution. When I was five and ran away from home it was to get to Hardy’s. True story, circa 1972. The cops had to drag me out and my parents were never the same.

there are two 7-11′s closer to my house, but i still go to hardy’s, just outstanding

Hardy’s was and still looks like an institution no kid in Upper Capilano can afford to miss. It looks much ‘prettier’ than I remember but the slurpees still rock.

gotta try that….there’s a shell down the road that i noticed had the most pressurized slurpee machine i have seen in decades… now it all makes sense….the bar is high in that neighbourhood….

  • sr

that’s a topic in itself… pressurized slurpee machines vs dribble slurpee machines….
