I live on the outskirts of Calgary and the city is having a tough time getting this bylaw passed so that people can raise chickens within the city limits. We’ve lived on our acreage for 18+ years and nothing beats raising your own animals. Chickens love freedom just like people do, and keeping them locked up and pumped full of drugs to produce 2 eggs a day instead of the natural 1 a day is just plain cruel and disgusting. I hope Calgary will one day be as progressive as Vancouver is.
