If you wander around Chinatown & Strathcona you can still see a lot of streetcar rail lumps under all that pavement. Wood cobblestone as well! Amazing that Vancouver doesn't restore some of these ancient lines. It would bring back a little dignity to Vancouver. Even more cool is that fact there is still an intact Streetcar station at Hastings and Carrall (Centre A) across from the restored Pennsylvania Hotel. If the city truly had vision they would at least bring the streetcar lines up to this location from the currently working lines in False Creek. I'm sure this would bring some life back to Hastings, that was once the heart of the city.

Your dream of silent electric trolleys is a lot closer than you might have thought.
