I showed you THESE photos of my tour of the new Canada Line Skytrain last week, below is a time lapse video of the entire trip from Waterfront Station to YVR! It’s sped up 900%, the ride actually takes about 27 minutes.
Fast forward to 1:30 if you just want to see the part where the train pops out of the tunnel.

Once again, big thanks to Translink and Jhenifer Pabillano of the Buzzer Blog for the tour!
Nettwerk Records boss and VMA ALUMNI, Terry McBride has helped to serve up yet another creative and progressive idea unto the current digital age of the music industry. The Vancouver Sun reports that McBride along with “Radiohead manager Brian Message’s company ATC Music and the MAMA Group to launch a new music model aimed at giving emerging artists an alternative to record label contracts. Unlike traditional record label deals, the Polyphonic model will leave copyright in the hands of the artists. Polyphonic will fund the artists’ venture in a joint deal that would see both sides share in the profits from the music and tours.”

Remember a few months back when there were more than 10 of those huge cranes helping with the construction of the Olympic Village? Here’s a Flickr link with a ton of different photos in case you don’t.
I shot this photo below last weekend of the last crane left standing. Not sure what it’s doing there now that everything looks pretty much done…

I’m putting together a tiny, impromptu flea market this weekend with a couple of friends in Mount Pleasant. Not quite as epic as the one pictured below, but close. If you’ve got stuff you want to sell off of a blanket in a nice grassy park hit me up at contact@vancouerisawesome.com and I’ll give you details. More info for everybody in the next day or two…

Okay, I found this sign on Main street the other day and instead of simply googling “rolfing” when I got home in order to find out what it is I thought I would put it out to V.I.A. readers for an answer as to what rolfing is all about. Please respond in the comments only if you are a qualified rolfer or if you have been rolfed in the past. I am baffled and I need an explanation from locals in the know. I have a computer with access to Wikipedia, but I would like comments from actual rolfers and rolfees.

Thank you.
