The skate sunday crew recently took a trip to Spain and met up with one of the OG members Torey goodall while he was dippin around Europe. In this instalment we got myself, Cody, Greg, Torey, Jack, and footage stolen from the infamous Rob Harris of thegreendiamond.com. check his recently released video rich mahogany. super duper.

The rain and thunder that shuttered Day One of the Virgin Festival at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby this weekend — just as The Roots were about to hit the stage — showed no signs of another appearance on Day Two. I can’t decide whether that was a good thing or bad thing, considering it was mad hot on Sunday and a rain sprinkle here or there might’ve been welcome (thanks to the person at Virgin who thought of the idea of giving out free mini Freezies all day).

A loyal reader just forwarded me a link to an amazing short film produced by the National Film Board back in 1985. Thought it’s 24 years old the story rings true still; it’s about City Critters (!) and it portrays them as “A source of pleasure and more…” that connect us to the earth and nature that otherwise would be lost in a city setting. Classic Vancouver footage and information about animals. Perfect. Enjoy this 15 minute piece right here…

I was digging through the internets trying to find some things to convince some out of town friends why they should stay at the Sylvia Hotel when I came across THIS comprehensive list on Wikipedia of every single heritage building in Vancouver. July 25th had the gnarliest weather in Vancouver I’ve seen in ages. It was great!

This time lapse was taken the day of the big ol thunder and lightning storm, and I guess, it’s little baby brother, the fireworks… (ignore the music in the video… wtf?!)
