SKATE OR DIE! AFTERPARTY!

September 30, 2009

We really didn’t need VIA’s SKATE OR DIE event to get any radder but hey..why not…. now take a look at the after party…the city’s three biggest skaterock bands playing on the same bill, at Pat’s Pub to boot.  If you haven’t had the pleasure of checking something out there….now’s the time.  This is the bill….it’s going to be aggro..whether you like it or not…

Dear Calgary is Awesome…….

September 30, 2009

I have a confession to make, I’m a recovering Flame Hater….In the very recent past, I’d rather see the Flames lose than the Canucks win.  The colour red, hardhats, moustaches, Jim Peplinski…I can’t handle any of them….

In the spirit of this website, I’m now putting my efforts into liking the Canucks…the past is in the past…from here I look to the future…the immediate future, tomorrow night, the home opener.

The so called hockey experts are saying Vancouver and Calgary are the only two Canadian teams with even a remote chance at winning the cup this year.  I must say, I’m in agreement, I think we’ll be battling for the top of our division and like last year, maybe it’ll all be sorted out in the first game of the season.  You guys didn’t choke down the streak…you just lost to us opening night….

The jock in me though can’t let a game go by without some sort of challenge, a bet?  How about if we lose, I grow a Lanny Macdonald, and you lose, you grow a Harold Snepsts?

Cheap Gas!

September 30, 2009

Holy schnike! This afternoon I drove by the Esso at Burrard and 4th Ave., and what should greet my eyes?

Gas going for 99 cents (okay, 99.9 cents)  a litre!!!

I can’t remember the last time I saw the price dip down to below a buck, so get thee to the aforementioned gas station before the Esso gods change their minds. Fill ‘er up!

Stacy Gabriel’s Problem

September 30, 2009

Stacy’s “Welcome to the Canadian Team” KR3W Apparel video, 2009.

Vancouver’s (via Kamloops) Stacy Gabriel has a problem: he’s too damn good at skateboarding. SBC Skateboard magazine published an interview with him in their Spring ‘09 issue (#11.1), and that content has made its way online. Click here to check it.

Game really on!

September 30, 2009

nhl_g_canucks_flames1_576

Tomorrow, the Canucks kick off their 2009-10 season with a visit to Alberta, to play the Calgary (stinkin can’t stand them too bad Fleury didn’t make the team because then we’d have another reason to hate the) Flames.

Can’t believe that we’re on the cusp of another long hockey season… but, that said… get your shoes ready so that you’re able to jump on the bandwagon as quickly as possible!
Here’s the season schedule here.

One more way to tell the twins apart……

September 30, 2009

A few weeks ago I embarrassingly spelled ‘Henrik’ wrong in my celebrity high five.  I put a ‘C’ in it.  I knew I got Sedin right…it’s not Sundin..and it’s not swedish for ‘punch me and headlock me in a scrum’, but I totally blew the first name.

In the comments I made note that there is no ‘C’ in Henrik but a rotating ‘A’ was in order.  Well, looks like someone’s reading those comments because guess who the new assistant captain is?

Way to go Henrik!

The SeaBus Video

September 30, 2009

The SeaBus is a necessity for North Vancouver life. It dodges seals and freighters and a different way to see the city for the price of a transit ticket. One thing that hasn’t changed is the safety video you watch while waiting for the next Seabus.
