Just like Marty Mcfly, we’re going back to the future with Vancouver’s first Oldschool street cruise and you’re invited!  If you skated in the 80′s or maybe just need another excuse to wear those wayferers and your hat turned up, this is the event for you, it’s also the perfect event for those ‘who used to skate’.

Authenticity is encouraged and will be rewarded by our sponsors: Vison, Tracker, Powell Parelta, Hosoi, BLVD skateshop, and Vancovouver’s own: Skull Skates, so start looking where you last left your boneless one and dig out those Skate Rags….

The after party will be at Pat’s pub featuring Skull Skates recording artist and one of the city’s most gnarly: The Sorcerors as well as  China Creeps and Hoovers…..that could be the skate rock show of the year!

Today there is a big book and magazine fest, called The Word On The Street, at Library Square.

It is a free event and includes a bunch of different exhibitions, presentations and marketplaces. Inside the Library, Alice McKay Room, will be a comics and zine area. Here is a list of who will be there. Things start at 11 am and run till 5 pm, hopefully the clouds stay away.

Holy moly, did you happen to go outside today and catch how WINDY it was?

While driving up the Sea To Sky I saw this guy bookin’ it at about 90kmh, headed for the Sunshine Coast. Who needs ferries on days like today anyway?

OTHER INFO: Big time personality!! Heat breaker (fixed)…used to be in a band called the Misfits, has a big kitty sister with extra toes!

I got another e-mail from THE CORN LADY yesterday!

“Hi Bob,

Just wanted to let you know that tomorrow (Saturday) & Sunday will be the end of my corn selling season. I would like to thank the wonderful ‘Main Street’ people for their support – it has indeed been a pleasure to serve them.
