JOCK TALK: ALEX CHALMERS!

Alex Chalmers is one of Vancouver's best skateboarders of all time and he's also a huge Canucks fan.

Alex Chalmers is one of Vancouver's best skateboarders of all time and he's also a huge Canucks fan.  He grew up watching countless games at the old Pacific Coliseum, and during the Naslund/Bertuzzi days, I'll always remember seeing him on Hockey Night in Canada in a chef's hat with a 'Cooke's Kitchen' sign.

Q: So...how do you think we'll do this year?

A: I'm really excited this year, the fact that we have three new defensemen and got rid of some dead weight.  Some of the younger guys look real good too, Mason Raymond was flying in some of the preseason games.  It looks like we're really maturing and we're going to have the blue line we need to back up Luongo.

Q: Who do you think is going to be your favourite Canuck this year?

A: Oh man...I don't know, I usually have a guy that I don't like though...

Q:  That was Jovo before right?

A: Yeah, then Ohlund, then O'brien, but who do I really like?  Mason Raymond, he looks good this year, and I'm excited about Shirokov.  I like Kesler and I like making fun of Kyle Wellwood too.

Q: What about signing Louie for that long, good idea?

A: Yes, I think he's the best goaltender in the league and will be for years to come.  You look at any dynasty and there's always a dominant goaltender on that team.   I actually had some information on that because my dad went to play this golf course up in the interior and it wasn't open yet.   He was just getting a tour of it with Dick Zokol's who's an old Canadian pro, he pointed out a giant mansion being built across the lake and said it was Luongo's.  If he was going to build a house like that, I figured he was going to sign a long term deal.
