Vancouver singer-songwriter (Peak Performance competitor and Scene & Heard interviewee/er) Adaline has teamed up with local disk jockey DJ Revise, providing vocals on his new album and they’ve released one of the singles as a free download for fans!

Here’s a bit of background on the song!:
DJ/Producer Revise (Sam Lawton) debut full length album has been years in the making.  Once nearing the completion of the album he reached out to Producer Shawn Cole (Fadermaster Studios – You Say Party, We Say Die) for a suggestion for a female vocalist and Shawn referred Revise to Adaline.

After meeting it became apparent that Adaline would not just sing background ambient noises, but would co-write with Revise and together they would make some of his experimental electronic music more pop-song oriented with lyrics and song structure.  Revise gave Adaline two instrumental songs, and Adaline wrote melodic structures and lyrics around the ideas.  Both songs were crafted and recorded on one creatively inspired evening with a “stream of consciousness” style of writing.

The collaboration produced a sexy, downtempo aesthetic – one might draw comparisons to Massive Attack.  The result of the union are two strong singles, “Don’t Look Down” and “Without a Trace” off of Revise’s album “Palettes to Burn” which will be released in December 2009.

You can get a free download of the first single “Don’t Look Down” off of Adaline’s website –
