Vancouver Is Awesome, and we are dedicated to everything that makes it that way.

If you want to read ugly, bad news about this beautiful city of ours, you’re going to have to look to traditional media and other blogs; V.I.A. promotes everything that makes our city awesome, from old to new and everything inbetween. We’re like the human interest piece on the news… only different.

We are a federally incorporated non-profit organization (learn more HERE). Please consider making a donation to help us keep doing what we do.

A LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR V.I.A. FROM THE UBC BOTANICAL GARDEN

OUR TEAM TOOK 1ST PLACE IN "PLAY ON!" VANCOUVER, COED DIVISION 2009!

WE GOT RUNNER UP FOR "BEST MULTI AUTHOR SITE" FOR 2008

OUR ANNUAL DONOR DRIVE FOR 2009!
DAY 4 OF 10

POSTED November 19, 2009 BY Bob Kronbauer

donordriveday4

We incorporated in July of 2009, 2 months too late to be eligible for any City Of Vancouver arts and culture grants for all of the year 2010. We’re new to this whole business of being a non-profit and most grants we’ve looked into require that you have a 2 year history of operations before your organization will be considered for them. It seems a little bit backwards to us too and that’s why we’re calling on you, our community, to support us now when we need it the most.

And if you don’t donate, then nobody in our community will. So please consider helping us out.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Your kind donation will be put towards our operating costs including our office rent, executive/administrative costs, site design/maintenance and hosting, accounting, promotions, events as well as the multitude of other expenses that come along with operating a federally incorporated non-profit that relies on the community that it supports to finance it. In the future our goal is to release an annual printed book as well as opening a community-minded retail space/gallery but in the short term our goal is simply to keep our web presence afloat and put on some more events in 2010, and we really do need your help to do that.

WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT?

Not only will all of our 2009 donors walk away with a good feeling about helping us out but your name (or the name of your business) will be laser etched onto our 2009 donor plaque and you’ll receive a set of 3 pins and a bumper sticker. At the end of our ten day donor drive we’ll be holding draws for thousands of dollars worth of giveaways donated by local businesses. By making a donation today you will be eligible to win any of the stuff we unveil over the coming days.

foryou

We have giveaways from a bunch of companies including Dace, Mint Records, Vincent Park, Girl, Arc’teryx, Furni, Crownfarmer, 32 snowboard boots, Dragon, Purdy’s, E’s, Medina, UBC Botanical Gardens, The MOV, 49th Parallel Roasters, Vancouver Special, Color Magazine, Vans, Westbeach, Endeavor, Arson and Orb.

One of today’s featured giveaways is this laptop case designed by Andrew Pommier and Electricbaby courtesy of Vancouver Special…

viagiveawayspommier

We’ve also got a pair of 32 snowboard boots courtesy of Timebomb Trading…

viagiveaways32boots

And a $75 gift certificate for Dace clothing…

Stay tuned over the next ten days as we unveil all of the prizes and bring you all of the reasons why we need you to help us out.

Click above to donate by credit card, or if you would prefer to send us a cheque please make it payable to “Vancouver Is Awesome Inc” and mail it to us at our office:

Vancouver Is Awesome Inc
208 – 950 Powell Street
Vancouver BC
V6A 1H9

A huge thank you in advance to everyone who makes a donation or who has supported us in any way! You are truly awesome.
