Vincent Park
Established 2008

Over the past year sisters Lauren and Cara Stryer have been working on continuing their family’s legacy on Main Street. Transforming part of their parents’ old antique shop into Vincent Park, a destination for cult brands in Vancouver, the two are just now coming up on their one year birthday. Brands such as Cheap Monday, Mined Rd, FluXus, LA Made, Fred Perry, Something Else, Mink Pink, Alternative Apparel, Eryn Brinie and more grace the hangers and shelves complimented by classy decor, revolving artwork, a photo booth and a welcoming vibe. Make a point of venturing a couple blocks north of 25th Ave to pay them a visit, you’ll be glad you did!

We caught up with Lauren and Cara for a few questions…

If Vincent Park is known for only one thing amongst its customers, what would it be?

People tend to feel at home here and we really love that. It’s a place to buy your favorite jeans but also a place to come hang out, warm up and have a good conversation on a rainy day. We put a lot of thought into every detail of our shop and believe that being fashion forward doesn’t have to cost a fortune. There is something here for everyone.

Aside from your own, what’s your favorite Vancouver business, and why?

We love to support local and are so proud to be a part of the ever changing and growing Main street community. Having practically grown up in our parents old antique shop on the street and being huge collectors we love to spend time in Bakers Dozen for old maps and trophies as well as Sellutions for seriously the best deals on amazing antiques and consignment. We just found the most stunning antique display case there. Treasure hunting is always so satisfying.

What’s the story behind the deer on the wall?

His name is Vincent and he watches over things. He’s got a great smile. We really love anything nostalgic of old Canadiana and he was the perfect last piece to the puzzle.

What keeps you here? Like what’s the best thing about Vancouver?

We both lived away from Vancouver for many years and were very excited about moving home. The city feels young again and it is inspiring to watch things grow, change and become more fashionable. It is great to be a part of that movement. Walking down Main Street and being able to see the mountains, riding our bikes on the seawall and cozy rainy nights make this a pretty special place to live.
