A couple days ago I let you know about the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe drive that’s running in Vancouver over the coming weeks. The program, in partnership with VANOC, will collect old running shoes to resurface a court surface somewhere in this city of ours.
The shoes collected will be recycled into Nike Grind, a material used in creating athletic and playground surfaces, as well as select Nike products. This is to say that the very shoes that you bring in will be recycled into an actual piece of Vancouver that you’ll be able to take advantage of!
I went down to the Robson Street Nike store and got some snaps of the collection box, note that the shoes you bring in don’t have to be Nikes…
