What I Love About Pecha Kucha

POSTED April 9, 2010 BY Bob Kronbauer
Tweet

Last night’s Pecha Kucha Night at the Vogue was (as expected) inspiring to say the least. At this series of nights where a group of Vancouver influencers are each invited to present 20 slides, talking about each slide for 20 seconds each, I am always thinking of how incredible it is that there are so many interesting, driven, creative people in our city.

There are so many things to love about this event but I think the one thing I love the most is that I imagine most of the people attending the event are thinking about what they would present if given the chance. When they leave the show they take a bunch of great stories and inspiration with them but I think it really gives them inspiration beyond what the speakers are providing them with. There were over a thousand people in attendance last night. That’s a lot of inspired minds.

I know you were there last night and that you’re reading this so don’t be shy! Leave a comment about YOUR favourite thing about Pecha Kucha Night.

Until clips from last night show up on Youtube I leave you with Kris Krug’s presentation from over a year ago. Still relevant and inspiring…

Totally, Bob! I kept thinking the same thing throughout the evening. Especially because what was shared by the presenters was so personal and also indicative of the paths they each chose, the choices they made (as Pamela Masik spoke to) that brought them to where they are. I especially loved Dave Olsen’s presentation (how galvanizing!) and Marc Baumgartner’s perspective on “context.”

    Great night. Very inspiring.

last night’s even was rad. the venue was beautiful… the presentations clever funny and insightful. it’s pretty incredible to get so many young creative eager peeps in a room together…. sharing and getting inspired.

all that being said i think my fav part of pkn vancouver is the cool artifacts. the posters, magazines etc are an important part of the documentation of our community. :)

ps. heh… thx for linking to the open everything video. joo rock! :)
