The popular interdisciplinary series Spatial Poetics returns with new innovative and collaborative performances by an eclectic line-up of Asian Canadian artists. Curated by Naomi Horii, this 9th edition of Spatial Poetics premieres three new bodies of interdisciplinary artwork created by Catrina Longmuir with Asa Mori and Alison Maddaugh, Ray Hsu with Tetsuro Shigematsu, and Michael Mori with Mark MacGregor and Iman Habibi. This year, artists explore their personal identities through performative practices, such as the collective creation of a performing personality, reliving memories on film and video with imagination and nostalgia, and testing romanticized stereotypes of the culturally specific performer. Spatial Poetics is always an engaging event and we look forward to seeing you at what promises to be another stellar night of cross-disciplinary collaboration.
