As sweater weather sets in, what better way to stay warm than with a cozy evening of surprising and true tales with your friends at the Rain City Chronicles? After a sunny summer hiatus, our seasonal storytelling series is back September 24 as part of Olio Festival and our theme is Surprise!

Like the Rain City Chronicles you’ve come to know and love, the night will feature a diverse group of awesome Vancouverites who all have a surprising story to tell. We’ll have music, home-baked goodies and maybe even a surprise or two in store for those in our lovely audience. Come help us build community, one story at a time, and laugh, listen and enjoy our house blend of low-fi, voyeuristic entertainment.

Because our last show, Luck, which was held at the amazing and historic Western Front, was a sold-out, standing-room-only show, we’ve decided to sell tickets in advance. But we’re doing it Rain City Chronicles-style. Over the next month, co-organizer Karen and I will be running a bicycle-powered ticket delivery service. We’ll be setting out across Vancouver on our bikes to hand-deliver your tickets. Just Tweet us at @raincityvan or email us at raincitychronicles@gmail.com and we’ll get in touch with you to arrange a drop-off. Tickets are $10 each and cash only, please.

Our first delivery date is this Sunday, so let us know where you’d like us to bring tickets (from downtown to King Edward, and from UBC to Nanaimo) and we’ll deliver them between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Our second delivery date will be closer to the show in September, and if you’d rather pick them up night-of at The Anza Club, that’s good too! We only have 100 tickets to pre-sell, so make sure you get in touch soon.
