I have never seen an episode of Supernatural. I can think of several reasons why that is. But the main one is because I am ____ , _____, and sometimes _____.

That being said these guys are kinda dreamy ….

It’s very possible I am just out of touch (I can fill in that blank myself). The Supernatural Convention – yes, you read that right – is happening this weekend at the Sheraton Wall Centre downtown. Taking place during the PNE’s 100th anniversary celebrations, The Battle At Hastings is going down tomorrow and will definitely be a solid opportunity to check out or partake in a sick Hastings Bowl sesh.

There are also a few more skateboarding events happening this weekend in and around the ‘Couv. As part of the Granville St. weekend block parties, C1RCA’s Skate Pentathlon best trick contest is happening tomorrow on the strip. Details here.

Due to a rain-out last Sunday, the final stop of 16th annual Bowl Series is taking place this Sunday at the old Whistler bowl to determine who’ll win the hand-made crown and take the coveted 2010 King of the Bowls claim for ripping the Series overall.

Unlike skateboarding, BMX parks are extremely rare, and BMX race tracks are almost impossible to find. So when my friend asked if I wanted to go to the track at Inter-River Park in North Van, I didn’t know what to expect. Rolling up the staring gate I was surprised at what I saw the hill leading up to the first jump can make you or break you, its huge. I took it slow (mostly because I discovered I am out of shape), but the track is super professional with blacktop burms and is perfect for the novice or advanced rider. Grab a bmx and check it out. Our friend Lisa Christiansen at CBC Radio 3 just released the third installment of her Full Metal Podcast! In her own words she’s “pretty much the office metal head and pitched the idea a couple of years ago since we never really play the hard, fast stuff. Happily, it caught on – thus #3. Each podcast features the best indie metal in Canada, and this edition features 4 Vancouver bands: Bison BC, 3 Inches of Blood, Devin Townsend Project and Black Wizard. Also – given the theme is myths and legends – I talk to our very own local Viking: Adrian Nelson, aka Ragnar Erikson. There’s lots more, including an interview with comedian Brian Posehn… not from Vancouver but still awesome.”
