Hello from chilly autumn in Ridgeville, ON! I'll be back in Vancouver by the end of the week, but I wanted to give everyone a taste of my trip to Ontario and the music photography I took along the way.

As many may have gathered, I was at the Polaris Prize Gala last week and witnessed an astounding number of talented artists perform, as well as Karkwa winning the grand prize of $20,000.

Here are some shots of the evening!:

press room pre-gala interviews

Shad being interviewed by E-Talk

the Masonic Temple filling up for the show

Grant Lawrence and Sarah Taylor kicking off the night...

Broken Social Scene performing Meet Me In The Basement

The Sadies

Radio Radio singing Dekshoo (members of Karkwa backed them up on drums)

Dan Mangan on stage! (Did you see him get on the table behind me during Robots?!)

Grant did an excellent job hosting

I went to visit the Radio 3 truck outside during the Besnard Lakes set. Here is Pedro Mendes and Chris Kelly...

...Craig Norris too!

Karkwa...future winners...

Owen Pallett

Team Mangan

Shad performed Rose Garden with Lisa Lobsinger (and then Yaa I Get It)

Tegan

and Sara

Grant giving Tegan and Sara their poster...their speech was pretty funny.

Caribou (his windbreaker is amazing)

F*cked Up reading the final decision...

Karkwa wins! See ya next year Polaris!
