The Bromance.

If you recall watching the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics then you can't help but recall being moved by poet Shane Koyzcan and his searing yet sentimental tribute to Canadiana, We Are More. Shane's memorable style and delivery has gained him international acclaim; in addition to winning the Canadian Spoken Word Olympics, in 2000 he was the first poet from outside the USA to win the National Individual Poetry Slam. This Master of Words' blend of poetry and live music has grown to include his band, The Short Story Long.

Dan Mangan, Nice, Nice Very Nice.

"The thing that I've always loved about Dan is that he approaches life with honesty and humility... those qualities draw a magic out of him when he lets it happen... being a kid on most occasions I am resigned to the fact that I've always loved magic." - Shane Koyczan

Dan and Shane share the stage.

When Shane was approached about being involved in the project for Vancouver is Awesome his response was immediate and entirely enthusiastic. Take a listen to Shane Koyczan and The Short Story Long perform Dan Mangan's "Set the Sails," the last song on his album Nice, Nice, Very Nice. These recordings are from a live board mix tape by Russ Hawryzki.

Shane introduces the song and talks about Dan and their bromance HERE.
