V.I.A. is a media sponsor of this year's T.O.Y. so I went on a media/sponsor tour of a few restaurants last week. Pictured below is chef and co-owner of the Hamilton Street Grill, Neil Wyles, explaining the event to the group I was with. Coincidentally, Neil is also the president of the Yaletown Business Association and, coincidentally, The Hamilton Street Grill makes my favourite steak in town: their blackened New York steak. It's not on their T.O.Y. menu but I assure you it is all delicious and well worth the modest price tags.

We also visited Bistro Sakana, where Etsuko Needham works. They told us that Etsuko is the only female sushi chef in Vancouver, and possibly Canada. My favourite thing on her menu is the unusual yet incredible lobster miso. She also served us some amazing Yuzu Black Sesame Tuna Tataki that was worthy of a second visit.

The aforementioned group I dined with included none other than ET Canada's Erin Cebula and her husband, Shawn Lee of Blu Living. Here they are finishing up at our final stop, Earls, where we feasted on some huge slices of pumpkin pie.

Taste Of Yaletown goes from today until October 31st. Make your reservation now!
