Which reminds me, cats always seem to have at least 4 or 5 other nicknames. I think it's cuz their multiple personalities require several monikers. Do dogs have that too, or just kitties?

Anyway, back to Maia! Here's what Gina had to say about her:

Name: Maia (and nicknames are Mamas, Mommy, Mow, nena, el niña)

Breed/Colouring: Tortoiseshell with a wee bit of Siamese (bitch is LOUD!)

Hood: East Van

Habits: Drinking water from the bathroom tap, your drinking glass, drooling, kneading bread anywhere she can (sometimes your face), going outside on her leash in the yard, lap cuddling on her terms, walking all over you when you’re reading or just not paying attention to her, sitting at the dinner table on ‘her’ chair while you eat, hiding from the stepkids, loves treats and soft food, will lick your bowl of posole when you're done with it

Hangouts: Your house, your room, your ceiling, her cat condo, the bathroom cubby hole behind the door, the closet

Other info: Maia was found at the SPCA in 1998 when Gina was 19 years old. She was the one. Maia is a class act—read: bitch. Everything is on her terms. She’s only loyal to one and that’s me, her Mama. She likes to wake up at 5:30 meowing in your face for food, but sits and waits patiently until 7 to eat. She lets you know if she’s not in a good mood, you can see it in her face. She is my little evil baby that I love so much. She loves people, especially people that don’t like cats. She’s very astute and condescending.
