In The Playground for the week of December 15-21: Winterfest, Woodwards Windows, Festival of Lights and Seasonal Stories.

The Cameron Library and Recreation Complex in Burnaby is hosting Winterfest 2010 on Saturday, December 18th from 10AM-1PM. "Enjoy face painting, cool crafts, story time and holiday treats." Admission is free.

The Woodwards Windows are a Vancouver Holiday tradition featuring window display depicting holiday scenes from years gone by. This year, the window displays can be found in the newly renovated Woodwards Building and in five other location downtown. Canada Place suggests you take a walking tour of the display and have provided a map of the locations.

The Festival of Lights is underway at the VanDusen Botanical Garden and runs until January 2nd. The Festival of Lights features all sorts of Christmas-themed activities that your kids are sure to love. Santa, (Scandinavian) elves, a model train... the list goes on. The Festival of Lights is open from 4:30-9PM daily and admission is $13/adult and $7/child.

For those on the North Shore, the Lynn Valley Main Library is hosting free seasonal story session this Thursday. The session is titled Stories, Snow and Mistletoe and runs from 3:45-4:15PM.
