"It's not uncommon for me to receive a text message from Devon that ends with "Ahhh, life." I guess they're a brief moment of reflection during his many adventures of performance, lighthearted deceit, and frivolous vanity. He's known around town for his novel brand of comedy, but is at least as talented as a musician. Regardless of discipline, his capacity for challenging creative output is staggering. And if you ever need to win him over, it'll cost you just a couple pints from Alibi Room's cask."

The Proof
01 My lovely workhorse. This thing is 15 years older than me and is more mahogany-based than I am.
02 My vinyl collection is small, but mighty. I own a lot of Deerhoof and Shellac for some reason.
03 My band (beekeeper)'s new album (BE KEPT). We are VERY proud parents.
04 We may be the only band to ever dedicate a song to Budgie's burritos.
05 Books from over 20 years of mad schoolin'.
06 Open-water swimming at Kits beach. I did an Ironman once. It sucked.
07 This plant had three leaves when I moved from a tiny no-light basement apartment to my new place in April. I know just how it feels.
08 Between the Buy Low, Shoppers Drug Mart, and BC Liquor Store, I'm here alongside the lonelies and the crazies nearly every day.
The Questions
What neighborhood do you live in?
Mount Pleasant, new home of the mighty Tim Hortons.
What do you do and where?
I play in the band beekeeper, and I'm also the resident musician for comedy troupes Ghost Jail, Pump Trolley, and Paul Anthony's Talent Time. I dabble in stand-up comedy and produced The Exploding Sandwich comedy podcast for two years. I'm also finishing up a Ph.D at UBC.
What are you working on?
You know how a new father wants to show pictures of his baby to everyone? Yeah, I want you to listen to BE KEPT. YOU! RIGHT NOW! I'm also in the planning stages of releasing an ultra-sweet, super-secret compilation of awesome Vancouver musicians.
