Daily Flickr Pickr Day 450

Every day we share a single photo from our Flickr Pool shot by one of our faithful and talented readers (that’s you!). Tonight my post is somewhat bittersweet.

Every day we share a single photo from our Flickr Pool shot by one of our faithful and talented readers (that’s you!).

Tonight my post is somewhat bittersweet. On the one hand, I get to share with you another installment of the Daily Flickr Pickr - and I'm grateful for every post that I've had the pleasure of writing. But on the other hand, by posting the Daily Flickr Pickr, I will be bumping an absolutely wonderful Vancouver Was Awesome post by Rhiannon Coppin from the top spot of the page. And it truly is a great post, as they all have been.

And Rhiannon's post ties in nicely to Vancouver's 125th Birthday tomorrow which unless you just crawled out from under a rock, I'm sure you already knew about. The City is putting on a free, all-ages event at the Jack Poole Plaza that runs from 2pm to 10pm, with more information available on their website here.

So with today's post, I am going to share with you a photo I've had my eye on for a week or so - a photograph titled Cranes by dinafasbro. I've stood on the sidewalk of the Main Street Overpass with a camera on more than one occasion, as I'm sure countless other Vancouver photographers have. The reason I'm posting dinafasbo's image today however, is because you can almost see the location of 50 North Dunlevy, the very subject of today's outstanding and aforementioned installment of Vancouver Was Awesome, which I strongly urge you to check out.

Yeah, I guess its a Meta-Homage™. 'Cause if I have to bump it, I'd like to at least try to guide you to it.
