sceneandheard SCENE AND HEARD showcases the independent music scene here in Vancouver. We interview some of our favourite local artists, post weekly guest playlists comprised of Vancouver artists and ‘Last Week in Music’ highlights some of the concerts happening around the city...

What a wonderful week. Stories and music at Rain City Chronicles, improv at Guilt and Company and another excellent West Coast Pop! show at the Red Room... I hope you got to see some of it!

That said, this week is busy too!:

THIS WEEK IN MUSIC: this evening (Tuesday) Louise Burns has her CD Release show at the Waldorf Hotel (doors at 8). Wednesday sees the return of Talent Time and Vancouver's 125th birthday bash...don't miss this! Thursday is the BUSIEST night of the week...especially for me, as I will be part of (yes, performing) Girls Girls Girls at the China Cloud. AS WELL during the evening I will be at Guilt and Company's 1 year anniversary party (I'll be running the 'photo booth'!). And if you still can't get enough music/fun, Rural Alberta Advantage (with Hooded Fang) will be at Venue! Phewf. On to Friday... Rococode, The Liptonians, and Jean-Paul De Roover will be at Joe's Apt on Granville Street. Another Saturday, another West Coast Pop! show at the Red Room ft. Louder Than Love, Waiting For Sunday, Leave The Lion, and Jack Mercer & the Whiskey Bandits. We're not done yet! SUNDAY!: beekeeper returns from tour to play with Sandman Viper Command and 41st and Home at the Railway. --- also this week George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight is taping in Vancouver (I'll be there Sunday and Monday! Hope you got tickets!)
