Momentum has been building for the massive Vancouver food community backed earthquake relief and baked good fundraiser this week. It seemed like everyone was there as over 650 patrons lined up, some waiting for an hour to get into the Roundhouse, buy some goodies, and contribute to Japanese earthquake relief.
The small multi-purpose room was packed with patrons and vendors who had a seemingly unlimited supply of goodies. They even carved out a corner for a few musical performances by singer/songwriter Kristie Yung and others.

Two Vancouver food titans in Melody and Joy (top) teamed up for a very well organized affair. The biggest problem was that it was so popular. I was stunned that so many people showed up right at 6 o’ clock when it opened.
Tons of people left with a nice haul of pastries and treats including Linzi McGlennon (top) gobbling up a diverse assortment of goods. Local rocker Bif Naked even showed up to chip in.
I’ll keep it short. It was a solid night for running into some very generous Vancourites in a jam-packed room full of baked goods. All the organizers and sponsors worked hard to pull off a night for those in need.
