SCENE AND HEARD showcases the independent music scene here in Vancouver.
With 26,075+ artists, boasting 119,682+ tracks, the CBC Radio 3 web site is the absolute ultimate authority, and the home, of independent music in Canada. With that massive library along with tools for members (free to join!), we’re taking advantage of what they’ve set up by bringing you a fresh batch of music every week featuring local groups who have tracks (entire albums, even!) on the R3 site.
In response to International Day Against Homophobia, singer-songwriters Bodhi Jones, Katie Schaan, Thom Kolb (of 41st and Home) and Nadia von Hahn will be performing at a fundraiser called “Love Not H8” for Qmunity (BC’s Queer Resource Centre) on Sunday June 26th. All proceeds raised at the event will go to youth programs provided by Qmunity.
In honor of this we asked the lovely Nadia von Hahn to create a playlist of some of her favourite songs by Vancouver artists. Click below to hear them and be sure to come out to the Railway on the 26th!
