DAILY FLICKR PICKR DAY 531

Every day we share a single photo from our Flickr Pool shot by one of our faithful and talented readers (that’s you!) First off, I feel kinda obligated to wish you all a Happy Canada Day, and to you Canada, Happy Birthday - your 144th.

First off, I feel kinda obligated to wish you all a Happy Canada Day, and to you Canada, Happy Birthday - your 144th. In the grand scheme of things, 144 years isn't really that long a time. But consider this: if John A. MacDonald and his buddies had started the Daily Flickr Pickr on July 1st 1867 and never missed a day, today would be Daily Flickr Pickr Day 52,596! And it would be a pretty sweet collection of images, too - daguerrotypes, tintypes, polaroids, even little square black and white photos with crinkle-cut sides! Oh my! But I digress.

On this day I like to think about what a magnificent place this is that we call home, and how we are blessed to be surrounded by such stunning natural beauty. I see this beauty in the below photograph by Michael Adendorff. All it takes to find it is to look for it, and Michael found it while on "a stroll on the West Dyke Trail" in Richmond; land's end, in a way, looking towards Vancouver Island and the Pacific.
