WE ARE VANCVR: Ryan Romero & Travis Collier, designers

Vancouver is an amazing city, chockfull of creative talent. WE ARE VANCVR is a simple, elegant way to showcase all that talent in one place. Every week we profile one individual from the VANCVR community. VANCVR.

VANCVR.com is a Domain7 Labs project, inspired by PRTLND.com.

Vancouver design duo Ryan Romero and Travis Collier work under the collective banner, Clou. These guys do incredible work and seem to have a finger in every creative pie: art, design, branding, film, packaging, interactive... you name it. Both are graduates of Capilano University's Graphic Design and Illustration program and their work can be seen all over the city—most recently in some of the colateral for the Cheaper Show. Scroll down to read more about what they do.

What do you do?

TC: I'm one of two artists/designers who represent CLOU.

RR: I am a designer working for Clou

Why do you love being a creative in Vancouver?

TC: It's a young city that is growing quickly. There are so many young entrepreneurs and creatives doing new and unique projects. We love having the opportunity to work with some of these people here.

RR: It's a city that's both nurturing and tough towards a creative person. It's a balance that makes for unique outputs.

How would you love to collaborate with other local creatives?

TC: By helping each other and connecting to fill the gaps in each other's endeavours. Everyone has different skill sets so its great to work together as a community. It's always so fulfilling to work with like minded and motivated individuals. Usually starts with a beer and a conversation.

RR: Through good beer-infused conversations that turn into intense arguments that bring up different perspectives that then lead to making you want to do something about it together.

How can people reach you?
