I have heard a fair amount lately about the new-look of the Hotel Georgia, but as of yet I haven't had the chance to see it in person. As you might have guessed, I've got a real soft spot for heritage buildings - and this beautiful 1927 structure most certainly qualifies. So when I saw the photograph you see below by entheos_fog in the pool I was pleasantly surprised - I love the throw-back quality of the post-neon signage! I am genuinely impressed.

For entheos_fog, this is the 199th installment of his 365 Photo-A-Day project (posted yesterday), which to my math indicates he hasn't missed a day since starting (assuming, of course, that he started on the traditional date of January 1st). Here is 199/365 - Hotel Georgia at Night.

Random trivia: when the Beatles played at Empire Stadium on August 22 1964, they had booked rooms for that evening at the Hotel Georgia. But right after their notoriously brief show, they fled the pandemonium of the crowd at the stadium and drove straight to the airport to fly to Los Angeles.
