A Thrilling Ride - The Vancouver Canucks' 40th Anniversary Season

How amazing was the Canucks' 2010-2011 season for you? Did you stand and cheer in the regular season? How about in the finals when we took out Chicago, Nashville and San Jose? Did you and your friends vilify Vince Vaughn and Carrie Underwood in jest?

How amazing was the Canucks' 2010-2011 season for you? Did you stand and cheer in the regular season? How about in the finals when we took out Chicago, Nashville and San Jose? Did you and your friends vilify Vince Vaughn and Carrie Underwood in jest? How about when Manny returned, did you get a little shiver down your spine when the camera panned to his brother-in-law, Steve Nash, cheering him on? Personally I have never had a more enjoyable season of cheering for my favourite hockey team, it was indeed a Thrilling Ride! Whether you're a longtime supporter, a bandwagoner or an inbetweener, if you cheered for the Canucks at all during this past season, their 40th on record, you're going to want to pick up a copy of this book that the sports authorities over at The Province and The Vancouver Sun teamed up on producing.

A Thrilling Ride - The Vancouver Canucks' 40th Anniversary Season begins with an intro by Pat Quinn who, in case you didn't know, played on the inaugural Canucks team way back in 1970. Iain Mcintyre from the Sun then shares a brief but eloquent summation on the history of the club and this past season before passing the reins to editors Paul Chapman (of The Province) and Bev Wake (of The Vancouver Sun ) who proceed to take you through it in it's entirety with help from writers and photographers from both papers. They share hundreds of photos and just enough words to remind you about all that was worth cheering for (as well as all that wasn't) in this 40th year of our fantastic hockey club here in Vancouver. I don't have much more to say aside from, again, you should pick up this book.

Below are a few sample spreads and HERE is the info from the publisher, Vancouver's own Greystone Books.
