Breed/Colouring: Fierce domestic shorthair tortoiseshell

Hood: East Van

Habits: Human psychotherapeutic interventions, marathon power napping, lyrical folk singing, motorboat impressions.

Hangouts: My chest, my legs, my feet, my lap; my husband's chest, lap, feet. The top of the cat tree, her rightful place as Queen of the Castle.

Other info: Bella is over 14 years old and was recently diagnosed with Feline Leukemia Virus, but after a recent emergency tooth removal, she's happier and feistier than she's ever been. She spent the first 6 years of her life in Calgary with my fave cousin Warren and his partner Neil, and she's been my kitty ever since.

Nicknames: Meh, Orange Wonder, Tabby Terror, Ginger Surprise, Little Kitty, Little Baby

Breed/Colouring: Little shorthaired ginger tabby

Hood: East Van

Habits: Apartment sprints, midnight yowling, wreaking havoc, face kisses, losing her toys under the dryer and then beseeching Jonathon to retrieve them.

Hangouts: Here. No, there. Wait, over there.

Other info: Amy was found picking through the garbage at 1 in the morning by our landlord in summer 2009. We posted signs, but nobody claimed her. Which is just as well, since we fell in love with her that first night! (It took Bella a bit longer to warm up to her.)

Nicknames: Deacon, Deacon Bill, Squeaky Man.

Breed/Colouring: Vancouver Island Black & White Siamese/Manx Cross

Hood: East Van

Habits: Aggressive head rubbing, chasing Amy around the apartment, high-pitched squeaking, singing for his dinner, friendly sparring, projectile urination.

Hangouts: Anywhere he wanted.

Other info: Bill's previous owner was less than responsible. We adopted him more or less abandoned on our street last summer. He passed away in February from Feline Leukemia Virus--and that, kids, is why you must always, always vaccinate your pets if you intend them to be outdoors--but the nine months he spent with us were lovely for him as well as us, and he'll always be in our hearts.

We can't adopt anyone else because of the Feline Leukemia Virus, but in the future we hope to add another boy cat to our family. Boy cats are rad!
