Welcome to Vancouver Is Awesome's newest feature, "In the Closet", an intimate look into the wardrobes of stylish Vancouverites.

Welcome to Vancouver Is Awesome's newest feature, "In the Closet", an intimate look into the wardrobes of stylish Vancouverites.I've been loving doing this feature and as it moves along I've become introduced to some very stylish and interesting individuals. Some of you may remember the dapper Leigh Christie that was featured earlier. Well he introduced me to our newest subject, Adina Veselinovic of Darwin Jewellery.  Adina has a beautiful and unique wardrobe which she customizes in her own way, especially with her and Stefanie Ansell's jewellery collection that features one of a kind pieces composed of abandoned treasures. Her style and home are also a reflection of her interest in reviving one of a kind vintage pieces.

Tell us a little about yourself...

I am a practicing hoarder, giz-mos and gadgets, ive got twenty! My apartment has transformed from a a basic Vancouver box into a museum of thing-a-mo-bobs. However, unlike your average museum, I've learned to put all these toys to use. Over the past year I've sewn a bond between the demiurgic mind of my bussiness partner and myself molding together to support a jewelry line called darwinjewelry.  Together we hoard and compose valiant statement jewelry made up of one-of-a-kind vintage materials.

What are your favorite shops in Vancouver?

Adhesif on Main Street and Dream in Gas town.

How would you describe your style?

My style and wardrobe is heavily dictated by my jewelry and each piece has its own unique composition. Though I tend to lean toward florals and sheers. The right piece can successfully balance my style from being overly ringwald and girly.

What item from your wardrobe would you save if your house was on fire?

Fur hat! Without a doubt. Fur stinks burning.

What's the most sentimental piece you own?

My grandma's table cloth cut and pinned into a shirt.

Is there an outfit in your wardrobe that you think is hideous but you just can't part with?

Massive blue Indian sari-ish-thing.

Thanks to Adina and Stefanie for letting me into their home.  If you're interested in their pieces feel free to email them at darwinjewelry@hotmail.com.
