Our friends over at Music BC have two great events coming up for those of you who are in bands or are otherwise involved in the local music industry. The first is a part of their Career Development Series taking place this Saturday and is all about networking and the second is a networking/schmoozing opportunity (called Schmusic, get it?) the following Monday that I'm personally taking part in as a panelist in their mentoring sessions offered to members. NETWORKING AND YOU: HOW TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

Everyone knows that relationships are key to a successful career in the music industry, but where do you start?
In this seminar we will discuss the proper ways to approach music industry personnel, addressing common fears, mistakes, and obstacles. Topics will include initial contact, means to find personnel to add to your team, when to follow up, and how to build relationships.
