With 29,506+ artists, boasting 140,667+ tracks, the CBC Radio 3 web site is the absolute ultimate authority, and the home, of independent music in Canada. With that massive library along with tools for members (free to join!), we’re taking advantage of what they’ve set up by bringing you a fresh batch of music every week featuring local groups who have tracks (entire albums, even!) on the R3 site.

The amazing Ontario band Great Lake Swimmers, who just played an unforgettable show at the Vancouver Aquarium a month ago, are back in town this week.

On Friday (May 11th) the band will be playing the Commodore Ballroom with guests Cold Specks!

After the amazing shows in March, I cannot wait to see them perform again! I asked the band to put together a playlist for us and they delivered a GREAT one. I love when I find new bands through these! Click the photos below to hear the playlist, AND check out the video made my Green Couch from the Aquarium (I have a cameo!)...

BONUS!!!  We have a pair of tickets to give away to the show at the Commodore!First person to comment with BOTH the name of the new Great Lake Swimmers album and the hometown of Tony Dekker wins the tickets!
