Vancouver Is Awesome, and we are dedicated to everything that makes it that way.

If you want to read ugly, bad news about this beautiful city of ours, you’re going to have to look to traditional media and other blogs; V.I.A. promotes everything that makes our city awesome, from old to new and everything inbetween. We’re like the human interest piece on the news… only different.

Thinking twice: Some thoughts on Rethink thinkers thinking alike… or not

Have a look at these two photos that I pulled off of Rethink Communications’ FACEBOOK PAGE. They’re of some of their employees coming to work dressed in the same outfits.

Now you probably looked at those photos and you thought “People who decided to dress the same and go to work. Wow, dude. That’s boring. NEXT!”. The reality is that these are from a series of photos called The Wall of Same and they’re of people who work in their Toronto and Vancouver offices dressed the same… totally by chance! Dig into the archive of this eerie series and you’ll see something far from boring; you’ll see some sort of alien-like mind-meld action going on where not once, not twice but 20-or-so times people have arrived to work at Rethink dressed in almost the exact same outfits.

I put a call in to them and they told me that it’s purely “a fluke”.

But what exactly is going on here? These employees of Rethink – one of the most award-winning and inspiring creative agencies in Canada – these people are not sheep. This is not the type of agency that hires nor breeds same-thinkers and it is reflected not only in their name but in their body of work that they do things differently. Their offices employ roughly 80 people, so that number takes a tiny bit of the mystery out of how this Wall Of Same may have come to be, but I’m going to dig deeper into this phenomenon in the coming months and perhaps break a big story. A story of the higher ups at Rethink (I’m talking to you, Ian Grais!) putting something in the water over there!

I’ll leave you with a couple more photos from the series and urge you to visit Rethink HERE and do some investigative journalism of your own.
