The winners in the City of Vancouver's re:THINK HOUSING competition that we TOLD YOU about not long ago were just announced! View all of the winning entries HERE and see creative solutions like ENTRY #23 (click to view) which proposes many of Vancouver's underused streets be shrunk to allow the creation of $2 billion worth of new lots to be used for affordable housing.

Here's a screenshot of a part of the entry, showing a current street (top) and how it might look if it were made thinner, with a house on it (bottom)! Very creative, and actually something that could become reality. Mayor Gregor actual TWEETED his support of this entry as a "clear winner!", so we'll see where it goes...
