UNPLUGGED: QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK

SOMETIMES, ITS HARD TO UNPLUG. That’s sometimes what Ontarians might say – we have no excuse. One of the most attractive qualities of living in Vancouver is how easy it is for anyone to 'unplug'.

SOMETIMES, ITS HARD TO UNPLUG. That’s sometimes what Ontarians might say – we have no excuse. One of the most attractive qualities of living in Vancouver is how easy it is for anyone to 'unplug'. While you might not have the money, time or resources to get out of the city – you always have access to the city’s finest parks. One of my most recent favorites: Queen Elizabeth Park.

Queen Elizabeth Park Vancouver

Queen Elizabeth Park is a ‘Swiss Army Park’, for city folk who need to unplug. It is where I go when I need to take a breather and relax during the week, but still need enough time for my regular routine. There is a large list of activities and happenings QEP offers. Here are some of my favorites:

The views! If you are like me, you stare in awe when you catch a great view in Vancouver. Well, QEP is the highest point in Vancouver and boasts some of the finest views of the North (attracting tourists and locals alike).

Pitch N’ Putt. Nothing like havin’ a Coke-a-Cola while you try your best to make it look like you really know what your doing out there. You don’t have to be a serious golfer but if you enjoy messing around with a golf club, it’s a perfect way to get your mind off things while being surrounded by beautiful horticulture.

Simply, I wanted to put Queen Elizabeth Park on the Unplugged map, because it’s a blessing to have this sort of beauty in our city. Next time you need to take an easy break from email or just want to impress a friend from out of town… QEP should be on your list of things to check out.

Other notable attractions in QEP:

-       Bloedel Conservatory – Tropical plants and animals. Birds fly freely!

-       Disc Golf (aka Frisbee Golf, aka Frolth,)

-       Leash free dog park

-       The Quarry Gardens

-       The Exotic Arboretum

-       Seasons In The Park – restaurant with stunning views (aka - a great place to take someone special for dinner)

Thanks! @joeinacup
