The Village on False Creek Welcome to In The Village on False Creek, a unique project inspired by Live@YVR and 365 Days of Dining. I've moved my family into this community with my mission being to showcase the myriad of things that make it awesome by bringing you a weekly scoop!

Our little Village has seen a swell of awesomeness in the media over the past few days. The OPENING OF LONDON DRUGS brought down the likes of CBC, the Vancouver Sun, WE Vancouver and News 1130 who all reported on how fabulous and liveable the neighbourhood has turned out to be.

Margaret Gallagher did a report for the Early Edition on CBC that you can listen by clicking below...

"Hear from recent residents Bob Kronbauer of Vancouver Is Awesome and Roger Tangry, London Drugs COO Clint Mahlman, and City of Vancouver Manager Penny Ballem."

Tiffany Crawford from the Vancouver Sun did a great video piece that you can watch by clicking below...

"Olympic Village sheds ghost town vibe - Residents welcome latest retailer to breathe new life into village square"

Connor Denoon did this piece for News 1130...

"The area is starting to become what was first promised: a walkable, active area filled with people."

Glen Korstrom did two pieces for Business In Vancouver. First this one on London Drugs opening despite ...

And this one about the sales of high end units outpacing expectations...

"Sales include 34 of the 40 units in the Canada House West building and 11 of the 20 units in the Canada House East building."

And lastly, Martha Perkins did a great piece for WE Vancouver...

"'Ghost town cloud' hovering over Olympic Village is gone"

I'll leave you today with a quote from Clint Mahlman, the senior vice president of London Drugs. He said that "When people come down here, it's going to blow away their preconceptions", and of course he means people who haven't spent any time in the Village. If you have yet to come down and see how awesome our neighbourhood is, take time for a visit this week! Before you come down dig back into the archives of my In The Village series HERE to find out what else makes it Awesome with a capital A.
