Welcome to In The Village on False Creek, a unique project inspired by Live@YVR and 365 Days of Dining. I’ve moved my family into this community with my mission being to showcase the myriad of things that make it awesome by bringing you a weekly scoop!

A couple days back I caught word that BC Place was going to be flying a “virtual” Union Jack flag as a salute to Paul McCartney who’s playing Vancouver for the first time in almost 50 years this Sunday, November 25th. I’ve seen their Northern Lights Display glow different colours in honour of occasions like Remembrance Day etc but the full power of it I had yet to see. Until last night as I was walking home from the Skytrain on the seawall and I glanced across False Creek to our neighbours’.

Below is a video of the animated Union Jack which will be flying all week in honour of Paul, the Queen and the Commonwealth!

As a resident of the Village, I get a view of this every time I return home from work, walking the seawall from the Main Street Skytrain Station. I’m thinking next week I’ll share with you how much I love my commute. It might seem impossible but with views like this as well as the ease of which walking and taking the train to work offers, I actually really enjoy my time going to and from the office.
