Hey Vancouver! There are some cool things happening at this Saturday’s Winter Farmers Market in the parking lot at Nat Bailey Stadium. Here are two great reasons not to let the rain spoil your fun:

1. The Big Harvest Draw

$5,000 (20 prizes of $250) in Market Money will be given away when the draw begins at noon. Tickets are available at the market before the draw, or from the VFM office at 1163 Commercial Drive. The draw is the main fundraiser for Vancouver Farmers Markets; it benefits market operations, educational programs and fun and interactive activities like our seasonal festivals.

In 2012, with the help of last years’ proceeds, Vancouver Farmers Markets launched the Fun with Food kids' program and Farmers Market Kitchen chef demonstrations. We grew to 6 summer locations and expanded the Winter Market to include more food trucks, farmers and artisans. Pick up your Big Harvest Draw tickets and help us do even more awesome things in 2013!

2. Earnest Ice Cream is launching their seasonal flavours and ice cream sandwiches

Ben and Erica will be at the market this Saturday debuting Vegan Mint Chip and Egg Nog ice cream along with their new holiday ice cream sandwiches. These delectable treats are available exclusively at the Winter Market. If you’d like to gift them to a friend, Earnest Ice Cream gift certificates will be available at the booth.
