TO DIE FOR FOOD OF THE WEEK - VOLUME 44

Every week I compile a collection of the most mouthwatering food photos that I shot in & around Vancouver. The hashtag #todiefor denotes an item truly knee weakening in flavour.

Fresh Handmade Sausage by Rainier Provisions - a mild Italian sausage served with salsa verde and rapini with lemon and garlic. As we lunched, a cooked walked in the front door carrying a pig over his shoulder. It doesn't get more handmade than that.

Hearty Vegan Chili by Rainier Provisions - slow roasted with three types of beans, vegetables & mild spices. Served with a large hunk of bread to wipe your bowl clean.

Roast of the day by Rainier Provisions - Porchetta with salsa verde, Lyonnaise potatoes, and rapini with lemon and garlic - a popular theme for the meat dishes today. My dining partner said this was delicious.

Vegan Raw Cookie Dough by Zain Saraswati Jamal - this is what women like myself dream of. Healthy fats, healthy sugars, zero guilt. Wholefood alchemist Zain Saraswati's website is chock full of ultra tempting raw recipes like this one. Follow her on Twitter, too, for healthy tips and inspiration.

Sumo Mandarins from Whole Foods Robson St. - with claims of such 'huge taste' and a price of $3 a pop, I couldn't resist trying this Rolls Royce of an orange. It was all that it claimed to be and more - easy to peel, super duper sweet and great texture. Treat yourself.
