Vancouver has a brand spanking new outdoor, rooftop, patio – The Roof at Black + Blue! Glowbal Collection is launching the rooftop deck on April 25th and I got a sneak peak of the lounge and some of the food!
The Roof is raising the steaks (pun 100% intended) and offering the largest rooftop patio in Vancouver – with seats for 120 people ranging from booths, to tables, to bench and bar seats, with running fireplaces, and it’s own kitchen.
The kitchen features a “Josper Charcoal Broiler Oven” by Wood Stone (see photo below) – which is the first of its kind in Canada (and there are only 20 in America!) This thing is no joke…it has an enclosed oven but with the characteristics of charcoal cooking – and it reaches temps of 1700 degrees Fahrenheit… It was quipped: “It’s like cooking in the mouth of a dragon…”
The menu covers everything from steak to seafood to chicken, and flatbreads fresh-baked in the Woodstone Pizza Oven, and apps / shared plates. Of course seasonal cocktails are there to compliment the food, as well as wine by the glass or bottle.
They will be open 7 days a week from 11:30am to 10pm, with brunch on Saturday and Sunday…
Where you might want to try the 23-Apple Pie…no joke. The photo below shows the portion size, and when you see it, you might want to bring a friend to help you eat it.
