Vancouver on the Cheap: 24-Hour Drawing Party

If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap".

Got a cheap-living tip you'd like to share? Send it in!

If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap". In other words, this is a weekly series on things to do and places to go in Vancouver that fall into that magical category of being both cheap and awesome.

Have you ever found yourself unable to sleep and with nothing to do? One great way to pass that time could be to put pen (or pencil, or paintbrush) to paper and make some art. An even better way to pass that time might be to check out the 24-hour drawing party, hosted this weekend by the ever-cool Project Space and make some art in the company of others! Show up anytime between noon on Saturday and noon on Sunday and make yourself a little something! The hours will be filled with workshops as well as open drawing time where all are invited to draw, paint, doodle, share ideas, and meet others. Plus, it's FREE! (As is the coffee, donated by Matchstick Coffee - a sure necessity to keep it going between 3 and 5am.)

PS: Fret not! If you are faint of heart and the thought of spending 24 hours in one place sounds terrible, there is no minimum time requirement; come and go as you wish! Although who knows what kind of art you might create in that 22nd hour... Just saying.
